MILAN ITALY

We are in Italy, arrived last night at 9.30pm on the fast train from Paris. We left Paris at 2pm and it was partly sunny, first in days ....typical and set out on the journey to Italy. Somewhere near the border, i remember the name but i did write it down somewhere....was it aix de ab ???? anyway, we saw snow. When the train stopped at the station the kids jumped off and touched snow for the first time ever. they were thrilled. It was pretty thick on the ground and everything was coated in it, so pretty and freezing cold. At the next station it was actually snowing so they jumped off again to feel it on their skin. i don't have a photo because it was dark and it just didn't work.
We spent today walking all over Milan and it was 3 deg people.....never got above 4 !!! i know you mob are hot but 3 deg ?? it rained all day and was absolutely freezing. Milan is beautiful, very crowded but pretty. We were stunned by the antics of the drivers, horns blaring all the time and crossing the road is like taking a walk on the wild side, very scary. The place is full of cars, trams and motorbikes. We rode the trams a few times. the Piazza Duomo where the cathedral is, is just stunning. We went inside the cathedral and i was speechless at the beauty of it all. I didn't take many photos today mainly because it was just so hard with the constant rain and when i did i had to be quick.

it was so cold even the snails changed color ! the photo below i took from our hotel window. The train station is just around the corner....bring back memories Suzanne ? i kept a careful eye on the money etc today...don't worry. So far I'm liking Italy but it makes you feel a bit claustrophobic and not being able to speak the language is not helping i suppose, we did run into some Aussies at the traffic lights today as we were pouring over maps.
Tomorrow we are heading to Firenze { Florence } to spend a few days, please send some sunshine our way and we will push some rain your way. till next time CIAO
