BACK TO LONDON TOWN

No photos this time but the next entry will have some. Yesterday we arrived back in Oxford in rainy cold weather...whats new ? We spent the afternoon ridding the car of 3 weeks of grime and crumbs ! has it been 3 weeks ? sure has gone fast. Got up early this morning after a good nights sleep, well i had one but the kids tell me that my snoring woke them !!!! i don't snore, i haven't heard myself snore so it cant be true...i told them to roll me over if it happens again. SORRY DARLINGS.
Today we delivered the blue car back to Thrifty and i cant say i was upset, it has been a great little car but I'm over driving in a foreign country. We had to walk from Thrifty to the train station, about a mile but it didn't rain which was good. Negotiating the morning people traffic at a train station is almost as stressful as driving but we managed to get ourselves back to London via Reading and Slough then Paddington where we changed to the scary underground and caught a train to Kings Cross.
Its like being in the Monopoly Board, we are staying at the YHA on Euston rd across from St Pancras station which is on the corner of Pentonville rd. I bought our Eurostar tickets to Paris for tomorrow which leaves from St Pancras, so that's handy having it across the road. The kids are excited about travelling to Paris by fast train....I'm nervous but that's normal and will only disappear when i land in Darwin ! The weather has been kind, no rain today but still bitterly cold. I went for a walk around the area while the kids were on the computer this afternoon and its a lovely part of London, the British Library is just up the road. So many people, that's something i will never get used to..there's just no room and on our walk from the station today to the YHA i hit so many people with my bag oops ! i seem to be saying sorry a lot.
It took us awhile to get to the Y because we started off looking for the Travellodge but couldn't find it so we turned and walked the other way and spotted the YHA so this is where we are for tonight. This YHA is very nice and as i write this we have 1 washing machine going and 1 dryer. We haven't washed our clothes for awhile and they were piling up ! i need to buy another pair of jeans, i only have one and I'm wearing those....so they didn't get washed. You'd be proud of me Suzanne re: travelling light. The song Copperhead Road just came on over the music system in the cafe here....feet tapping ! people seem to be envious of us when they find out we're Australian " are you Australian ? your so lucky " we are indeed !
My next entry will come to you from the fashion capital of Paris....i should blend right in !! Anna ? my Geoff Newton boots are so comfy, no blisters and my Rivers ones are the same. Viv ? i hope your father and i never meet because i will have something to say about the roads he designed !!!! till next time goodnight from London.

Hi Guys,
Have fun in Paris (how exciting!)... but watch out for bedbugs – Paris was the only European place I came across them, although it was pretty easy to pick with blood spots on the bed head.
We’ve had rain! Beautiful overcast day today – good housework weather! HA HA
KSPS end of year concert tonight. Mia is ever so excited. I will video it for you Rossy.
HAVE FUN!

Hi you three, I wonder how you are getting on underneath that Channel? After writing the other day that it is nice and nearly warm in the South of Germany, I had a phonecall yesterday, telling me that the forecast says snow! We had about ten snowflakes the other night and this morning the garden was white with frost - very pretty but cold!!
Hope you have a wonderful time in Paris! Love Alf & Karin
