ROMA again

We are back in Rome after a not so nice visit to Naples. We did eventually find a spot on the waterfront where we could see and touch the Mediterrean and it was beautiful, just dont look down. the water is full of rubbish. There were feral cats everywhere. The temperature was like Katherine in the dry season and i actually spent most of the day in a tee shirt. We had planned to get on the hop on hop off bus and go to Pompeii etc but it was 100 euro and the girl said that nothing was gauranteed because of the traffic and there were a few demonstrations in the streets, it was pretty glum. All the tours we enquired about were so expensive and as there werent many tourist around they werent keen to take a half empty bus. I did video some of the waterfront and also a lot of the inside of my handbag !!! because i didnt have my glasses on, i thought i had pressed the record button when in fact i had turned it off ! Mia is losing patience with me i think...we had a laugh. I will be more careful in future.
This morning we hopped back on the train and came back to Rome because we couldnt get a seat on a train to Venice fom Naples. so tomorrow around 2pm we should be in the city of water Venice. We are excited about that. So more photos on the next entry. The weather in Rome is sunny and cool...perfecto !
Fly safe Christine and boys, i know Alf and Karin cant wait to see you. Safe trip to Edinburgh Alf and Karin.

Glad you are at least getting some better weather now. Sounds like you're getting the hang of the buses. Love the photos. Enjoy Venice. When we were there the main plaza had been under water for ages and it was all fogged in! We caught water taxis as they were cheap unlike the gondolas which cost a fortune.
Take care and have fun

Hi you three, Sammy is still alive - noisy little critter!
I just heard on the morning news that British Airways is going on strike, and that it may affect Qantas flights out of London over the Christmas period. Just thought you might like to know so you can check if your flight plans back home are going to be affected.
Hope your having a wonderful time. Have a ride on a gondola for me!
