THE FAIR FIRENZE.... Florence in other words.

No photos....a whole day and i didnt take a photo !! i will make up for it tomorrow i'm sure. Today we caught the train to Florence, sounds easy ? well it wasnt. First we stand in a hideously long line at the ticket counter at Milano Centrale Train Stazione and then we sit outside in the Piazzo for 2 and half hours and then we literally fight our way through hundreds of people to claw our way on board the Eurostar train, it was scary. Riley leading the way with Mia in the middle and the terrified old girl coming up the rear and getting swallowed by the crowds while trying to keep an eye on Mia. Riley takes over when it comes to the transport stuff, he's very good. Reminds me a bit of my father though when he strides 400m in front and then gets cross when we yell for him to slow down.....he is Poppy all over when he does that. After we got on the train we realised that we didnt have a seat number ! about 50 other people also realised this and thats when a kindly Italian who spoke English told me that what happens is " they sella the tickets but dont ta tell you that you a have no seat because they are a booked up, they should not a sell a more tickets but they do so you must stand to Firenze.....welcome to Italy Senora " so we stood in the swaying carriage for 2 hours and 39mins, but it wasnt all bad because we got talking to an Aussie guy and his 16 year old very pretty daughter, {whom Riley struck up a conversation wiith} the man was born in Italy but has lived in Melbourne since he was 4 but comes back to Italy all the time....lovely people and he gave me some great tips and ideas. On the way to Florence we passed snow in the Apennines...Mia squealed. They love Mia here, she looks like a little Italian. So now we are in a very nice but cheap apartment in Florence and tomorrow we are doing the old hop on hop off tour. Today was lovely and sunny all day and not nearly as cold as it has been, no wind either. Thanks for the comments Clare, thanks for watering the roses...it could be worse you know, i could have left Micro with you instead of the bird. Did the girls enjoy a Christmas Carol ? we havent seen it yet. Everything is in full swing over here for Christmas, the lights are lovely and decoraqtions. Oh and guess what ? i got a fine for driving in a bus lane in Oxford $140.....i am not amused and you can stop laughing Duana !!! can hear you from here.

Why single me out for laughing at your $140 fine for driving in a bus lane. Obviously didn't have your glasses on that day!!! I nearly had to pick Eliza up off the floor after telling them about it.
Keep taking the great photos and keeping us up to date.
