Spent last night in Llandudno which is on the north coast of Wales. This morning we went for a walk along the waterfront as the sun was still rising, it was cold but so beautiful. The ocean was flat and the tide was on the way in. There is a 700m long jetty/pier that juts out into the ocean beside the Great Orme mountain and it has small shops and rides, kind of like a side show alley..very old fashion and reminded me a lot of what the Corso in Manly NSW used to be like. At the end of the pier you get a great view of hundreds of windmills standing out in the ocean, obviously there to generate electricity. These wind farms are all the way down the coast and are a sight to see, its a brilliant way to make electricity because its always windy around here. From Llandudno we drove along the north Wales coast towards Chester then we turned inland and headed to Nottingham. The roads we took were mainly minor roads which wound through villages and skirted around the major towns. It was sunny all day and I almost got sunburnt through the windscreen ! On arrival in Nottingham we eventually found the YHA which is right beside Sherwood Forest but it's shut !! couldn't believe it, booked out by a large group. After throwing a hissy fit we turned back and drove through late afternoon traffic which combined with the strange road rules, almost sent Riley and I crackers. He finally worked out the signage which wasn't matching up with our maps { the Brits are not good when it comes to giving directions} about 5pm we arrived at a hotel to find it was booked out, paused while i threw another hissy fit then it was back in the car and onto the scary M1 in the dark { i really need to remember to use the headlights } for a 10min drive to the next hotel where we got a room. We didn't do any sightseeing today except from the car but the scenery was lovely. It was cold today but not as noticeable because of the sunshine, but if you werent in the sun you froze. We went into a large shop called Argos, looking for a computer, very strange. You go in and look through all these catalogues for what you want, then write down the catalogue number, check on a special machine to see if the item you want is in stock and if it is you take the written number to the register, pay for it then wait for your number to be called and when it is they hand you the item you paid for. There are no shelves with stock on them its just a room full of catalogues to flip through. Very strange way to shop. The only computer they had, didn't have a CD/DVD drive and it cost $500 Aussie dollars so I didn't get it. This one is still going but its days are numbered. My camera is taking some beautiful photos, well I think they are because the computer is not showing them very well so I only have the small screen on the camera to look at them. If I post any blurry ones then sorry but its hard to see them with this poor old lap top. Let me know if they are rubbish. I filled my second memory stick tonight, that's 6GB of photos so far, and I have been deleting. There is going to be a lot of photos to bore you all with when we get home.

This is a huge sculpture on the side of the road in Nottingham, it's a silver feather, taken from the car window by Mia. Is it supposed to have something to do with Robin Hood ? i'm saying yes.
